Why do "Conservatives" call everything they disapprove of socialistic when the capitalist policy is socialist?

Except for those who run the think tanks and hate radio, conservatives are only capable of regurgitating the bullshit they've been taught by the former. If they were capable of independent thought, they wouldn't be conservatives. Is it any wonder college campuses (at least the accredited ones) tend to be liberal?
