I was wiping my ipod with soap....?

Okay, so i was trying to clean my ipod touch (2nd generation) and i put a nickel size amount of handsoap onto the front and backside of the ipod. I got a bit of toilet paper and wet it and started to wipe the wet toilet paper onto the screen of the ipod. as i was, it got wet and soapy and then i dried it up. i suspect that some traces of handsoap and water got into the usb port, so how do i fix it?!?!?! its my first ipod touch T.T
